Built for hands-on espresso preparation, the Gaggia Classic Up Coffee Machine combines traditional manual control with improved temperature stability and workflow upgrades. Designed and manufactured in Italy, it builds on the original Classic platform with features that support more consistent extraction and repeatable results at home.
Temperature Control
Dual PID control manages both brew and steam temperatures independently, improving stability during extraction and milk texturing. This reduces temperature fluctuation and supports more consistent results across different coffees, particularly when working with lighter roasts or finer grind adjustments, while allowing more controlled temperature transitions during day-to-day use.
Pressure and Extraction
A fixed 9-bar extraction pressure supports balanced espresso, while the integrated pressure gauge provides real-time feedback during brewing. Adjustable pre-infusion improves puck saturation and helps reduce channelling, allowing more even extraction and better control during dial-in across a range of grind sizes and coffee profiles.
Workflow and Interface
A 2" TFT display with capacitive buttons works alongside traditional switches, giving clear control without removing the manual feel. Brewing and steaming are performed separately, with the PID helping manage temperature transitions. A fully articulated steam wand allows flexible positioning for milk texturing and better control when preparing milk drinks, while the dual drip tray system improves cup clearance for larger cups or scale use.
