Built around Ascaso’s dual thermoblock platform, the Ascaso Steel Duo PID Coffee Machine combines fast heat-up times, simultaneous brewing and steaming and advanced temperature control in a compact stainless steel body designed for serious home espresso preparation. Rather than using a traditional boiler system, the Duo PID is engineered around thermal stability, energy efficiency and workflow speed, making it well suited to users who want stronger control without stepping into larger commercial-style machines.
Fast Heat-Up
The Steel Duo PID uses independent stainless steel thermoblock systems for brewing and steam production, allowing both functions to operate simultaneously without long recovery times between drinks. This design provides fast warm-up performance, stable brewing temperatures and consistent steam pressure while using less energy than many traditional boiler systems. The result is a machine that feels responsive in everyday use, particularly for milk-based coffee preparation and back-to-back brewing.
PID Control
The PID control system allows adjustment of brew temperature, steam temperature, pre-infusion time, standby mode and shot timing directly through the front interface. Physical toggle switches handle brewing and steam activation, maintaining a more tactile workflow while still offering detailed electronic control. An externally adjustable OPV also allows brew pressure changes without removing machine panels, making fine-tuning simpler during dial-in and recipe testing.
Commercial-Inspired Build
Built from stainless steel, aluminium and brass, the Steel Duo PID is designed around long-term durability and everyday use. The 58mm commercial-size group and portafilter platform provide compatibility with professional accessories and baskets, while the multidirectional cool-touch steam wand improves comfort during milk texturing. Additional workflow details like integrated cup warmer space, illuminated workspace lighting and a large 2L water reservoir make the machine more practical for regular home use without increasing footprint unnecessarily.
